Abstract

We describe the case of a 40 years old female patient diagnosed with severe acute cholangitis; her cholangioresonance reveals a choledochal cyst. In ICU, she improves with antibiotic treatment and T tube biliary drainage in which purulent bile was found. Four months later, she undergoes laparoscopic cyst resection and Roux – in- Y bilio-digestive anastomosis. Resection was
at the border of the right and left hepatic ducts and two independent anastomosis were required. After an episode
of intermediate intestinal obstruction which required exploration through a small umbilical incision, previously used for the entero-enteric anastomosis, on the eight postoperative day, she made a good outcome.
