Abstract

The present study describes the experience in surgical management of 1000 consecutive patients with gastric tumors in the gastric surgery service at Hospital Rebagliati between the January 01, 2004 and June 10, 2011. That service centralizes the gastric surgical pathology of the hospital which has allowed not only the implementation of treatment guidelines but that the “surgeon-volume” factor increases signifi cantly leading this in an expertise that currently allows internationally comparable rates for morbidity and mortality and the rapid accumulation of a casuistry as the one presented in this article.
