Abstract

Bouveret’s syndrome is an uncommon pathology, characterized by an obstruction caused by impaction of gallstone in the upper gastrointestinal tract at the gastroduodenal level. The case of a 52-yearold female patient with a history of gallstones who comes to the emergency with signs and symptoms of upper intestinal obstruction of biliary origin confirmed by endoscopy and tomography is reported. Stone extraction was performed by duodenotomy and gastrotomy, pyloric exclusion, gastroenteroanastomosis and Roux-en-Y anastomosis. The patient evolves favorably, being
discharged after 9 days.
