Divertículo de Meckel perforado por un cuerpo extraño
Keywords:
Meckel’s diverticulum, abdominal painAbstract
We present the case of a 33-year-old male patient with Meckel’s diverticulum perforated by a foreign body, with no medical or surgical history, who consulted due to abdominal pain of 16 hours duration, located in the right iliac fossa. A clinical diagnosis of acute appendicitis was established and the patient was scheduled for emergency surgery. A diverticular formation perforated by a foreign body, suggestive of being a fish bone, was identified 80 centimeters from the ileocecal valve. An appendectomy and resection and ileal wedge anastomosis were performed. The histopathological study confirmed Meckel’s diverticulum, without heterotopic mucosa. His evolution was favorable.
