Enfermedad de Crohn ileal

Abstract

We present the case of a 17-year-old girl who complains for 2 years of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and has exams that suggest bowel obstruction with no definite diagnosis. She undergoes two operations, one of them as an urgency. A loop ileostomy was constructedand was admitted for further study. Anatomic pathology of a surgical specimen reveals Crohn's disease and so receives medical treatment with azathioprine and scheduled for ileostomy takedown which is uneventful. Crohn's disease is not common in our population in Tacna, it has no definite clinical pattern and diagnosis is achieved with the aid of images, endoscopies and anatomic pathology. Medical treatment is helpful in recurrences which usually undergo surgery.
