Schwannoma gástrico hallazgo en otra neoplasia maligna
Keywords:

Gastric schwannomas are unfrequent mesenchymal tumors, most of which are GISTs, more frequent during the fifth and sixth decade of life and predominantly in women. The most common site in the digestive system is the stomach followed by colon and rectum. There are usually no symptoms and if any they present bleeding and early satiety. They are benign tumors, malignant degeneration is extremely rare. Complete resection provides an excellent prognosis. Immunohistochemistry reveals diffuse positivity for S-100 and generally for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). Genetically, alterations were found in chromosomes 2 and 18 and association with malignant neoplasms, which suggests that there is an alteration that predisposes the development of these neoplasms. Two cases as a finding are reported during the staging of endometrial cancer and during the follow-up of a patient with operated kidney cancer.
