Abstract

Gastrointestinalduplicationisararecongenitaldisease that affects any segment of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) from the mouth to the anus. It more frequently compromises the ileum, while the stomach is rarely affected. It is usually diagnosed in the pediatric age and less frequently in adults. The most frequent clinical manifestations are abdominal pain, vomiting and the presence of a palpable abdominal mass. We report a 13-year-old patient with a gastric duplication cyst, which in a first diagnosis was considered a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST).
