Abstract

Echinococcal disease remains a major problem within some endemic areas. We report a case of a single primary echinococcal cyst located in the preperitoneal space. A 75 year old woman, born in a endemic area in Perú: Junin, was admitted with a 1 year history of pain in the lower abdomen, presurgical diagnosis was probable desmoid tumor.
