Abstract

Hydatid disease is a common infection in Peru and occurs in about 1/20,000 - 1/30,000 of pregnancies. While the pregnancy progress, it can develop a cyst rupture and precipitate labor. There is no standard treatment during pregnancy. Surgery is the only definitive treatment, however, it´s not free of complications. The second trimester is considered the best time to perform a surgery.
