Abstract

A 70 year old male patient presented at the emergency department with a reducible mass in the right lumbar region during six years. It became painful and non reducible 24 hours before admission. He underwent surgery where protrussion of preperitoneal fatty tissue was found at the Grynfelt-Lesshaft area. A mesh was used for surgical repair. He had an uneventful postoperative recovery and no recurrence was found in follow-up.

The frequency of this pathology, as well as its clinical presentation, differential diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
