Vólvulo de la vesícula biliar
Keywords:
Volvulus, gallbladderAbstract
Gallbladder volvulus is an unusual clinical entity. Symptoms are attributed to more common diseases. More than 300 cases have been reported in the literature since it was first described in 1898 by Wende (1).
It occurs more frequently in women with a ratio of 3:1 and usually in patients between 60 and 80 years; it is related to abnormal anatomic variants in which the mesentery which supports it makes it prone to torsion (2,3); In 2000 a case of vesicular volvulus by ERCP was reported (4), in 2003 a case of triple torsion of the gallbladder on its pedicle resolved by laparoscopy was reported (5). In 2006, a case of vesicular volvulus is reported using the ultrasound, CT and ERCP and MRI as methods of diagnosis (6). The importance of this entity is that it is not often considered in the differential diagnosis at the time of examining a patient with abdominal pain.
