Abdomen agudo quirúrgico no obstétrico en el tercer trimestre del Embarazo

A 29 year old pregnant woman presented to the Emergency department with a three day history of oppressive abdominal pain, white fluid vaginal discharge, dysuria and urinary frequency. She is admitted with the following diagnosis: 1.-Second 34 5/7 weeks pregnancy 2.- Uterine irritability syndrome 3.- Urinary tract infection 4.- Previous C-section. During her admission she is diagnosed of abruptio placenta. An emergency C-section is performed. Operative findings: Alive female new born, scarce green clear amniotic fluid, 15% of placental separation, approximately 200 cc of purulent fluid, retroileal cecal appendix perforated at its base. Exploratory laparotomy, appendectomy and drainage were performed. In the seventh postoperative day a surgical site infection was diagnosed and she was discharged on the 13th post-operative date. The newborn had an uneventful evolution.
