A 54-year-old male patient was admitted in the emergency department due to upper digestive bleeding and transferred to the trauma shock unit; endoscopy revealed an ulcerated 4 cm cardial tumor. Biopsies were negative and a multislice spiral
tomography confirmed the location of the tumor. The endoscopist could not resect the tumor due to its cardial location and this lead to laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy, there were no complications. Pre operative diagnosis was GIST tumor but pathology concluded in leiomyoma.
