Obstrucción intestinal por bridas y adherencias
Keywords:
Intestinal obstruction, bands and adhesionsAbstract
This clinical case presents a 63-year-old female patient with past medical history of open appendectomy and laparoscopic cholecystectomy that presented intestinal obstruction due to bands and adhesions; she was treated in first instance in other health facilities without identifying the exact cause of the clinical picture and, consequently, without receiving adequate management. She was referred to our hospital where she was admitted and received medical management for 72 hours. Given the lack of clinical improvement and according to what was evaluated in the imaging studies, laparoscopic surgical management was decided to release the bands and adhesions. The patient presented a complete recovery from the obstructive condition and was discharged on the third postoperative day without complications. This case seeks to emphasize timely diagnosis and minimally invasive surgical management for the resolution of obstructive symptoms due to bands and adhesions.
